The four houses of Gumdale State School are named after four islands off the coast of south-east Queensland.
- Yarun / formerly Bribie (Purple)
- K'gari / formerly Fraser (Aqua Blue)
- Mulgumpin / formerly Moreton (Teal Green)
- Minjerribah / formerly Stradbroke (Maroon)
During National Reconciliation Week in 2021, Yuggera local Aunty Deb visited and spoke on our school assembly. Aunty Deb shared the meaning behind each of the Aboriginal names for the islands that are our sporting houses.
