P&C Fundraising News

​Volunteers!

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Kylie Brayshaw, Donna Baden & Jacinta Colley for all the time, effort, creativity & fun they have brought to the Fundraising team. Sadly for us Kylie & Donna have had to step down from the Committee due to a change in their commitments. Jacinta has stepped down as co-chair but will remain on the committee. 

We are always looking for extra help and we’re putting the call out for anyone in our school community who would like to get involved! Even if you can only spare an hour or two, here & there it would be greatly appreciated. The Fundraising Committee always needs volunteers for our events and we love meeting new people. School Fun Run


Next Friday 8 September will see the Gumdale State School P & C hosting the

se
cond Run-4-Fun obstacle race.  Your child has now received their sponsorship booklet.​

  1. Check out the sponsorship booklet, it contains information you need including the prize list and sponsorship form
  2. Set up your on-line sponsorship page and share it with family and friends!
  3. Return your sponsorship form (on the back page) to your child's teacher by Friday 8th September to claim prizes

What you need to know

EVERY STUDENT:  All children running will receive a participation certificate and a motivational wristband as a thank you from our fundraising team.

TIMINGS: Please note these timings are a guideline, we suggest arriving prior to the start time to avoid disappointment.

​Frequently Asked Questions


 

  • Is it timed? The race is not timed; this event is designed to be inclusive and fun. 
  • Where is the course? It commences on the bottom oval, works around the school grounds, concluding on the bottom oval.
  • How far? Prep 500 metres, Years 1 and 2 800 metres, Year 3 to 6 will be 1500 metres.
  • Dress? Non-formal uniform with sports shoes if desired.  YEAR 6 STUDENTS TO WEAR SENIOR SHIRTS PLEASE!!
  • Support: Senior students will run with Prep to Year 4’s.
  • How it works: Students will arrive at the marshalling tent prior to their start time, complete their race, receive an icy pole at the finish line and then return to class with their teacher. 
  • Parent watchers: Please come and cheer the students along however please do not participate.  It is appreciated that spectators are mindful of keeping the course clear for the students to move through and please avoid the finishing area. 
  • The obstacles: If your child is uncomfortable with any obstacle, they can skip it and move onto the next one.  At one obstacle where your child may get squirted with a water pistol, it is not our objective to soak the children.
  • Poor weather: If the fun run is cancelled due to poor weather conditions, school administration will arrange a suitable alternate date.
  • First aid:  Near the finish line on the bottom oval and the admin block sick room.​

Fathers Day Stall


The Father’s Day Stall was held on Wednesday 30 & Thursday 31 August. A big thank you to Abhishek Bhasin for organising the stall this year for our kids. Abhi and his helpers did a fantastic job. We hope ALL our school community Dads, Stepdads and Granddads have a wonderful Father’s Day on Sunday. Enjoy the gifts your children chose for you.​
